This is true, although there is a cat-veat. And that is that it is only true so long as you have money to buy treats. The second your cat child senses that you are skimping out on them, or that you are withholding treats for lack of budget, they will wander off and find themselves someone who has not yet burnt through their kitty cash this year. It is a tough world out there, but a cat’s gotta do what a cat’s gotta do.

This is a purrfect example of what can happen when you try and change the treats-purrs relationship. These fur babies’ pawrent trained them to herd sheep for the pleasure of a tasty treat. But once the pawrent thought they had been trained well enough to perform their duties without the promise of treats, the cat children went on strike and are seen here sitting at the picket line, letting the sheep they were meant to herd, defecate all over their pawrent’s nice new deck.
